New Medicine Students

Welcome to Lincoln Medical School

All of us at the Lincoln Medical School are looking forward to welcoming you, as both students of Lincoln Medical School and citizens of Lincoln. We are committed to helping you to keep safe and to ensuring that you make the most of the opportunities that studying for a Nottingham degree offers.

We have summarised a few things below on what you need to be aware of at this point. This includes information regarding your registration/enrolment, accommodation and Student’s Union positions, should you receive a confirmed place with us in August 2025. This webpage will be updated over the Summer for those applicants who have been successful in receiving a place with us in September 2025. Please use the drop-down menus available below.

When is the start of term?

The start of term for new A10L medicine students is Monday 22 September 2025

How will enrolment/registration work?

Home students

If your place with the Lincoln Medical School is confirmed, you will receive an email notification from the University of Nottingham which will contain further details of how to complete the registration process. Your on-campus attendance confirmation will be carried out by the University of Lincoln.

International students

International Student registration will be in two parts:

  • The University of Nottingham will send you an email notification with details on how to complete their registration process
  • The University of Lincoln’s Student Visa Compliance Team will contact you with regards to completing a Document Check. This will include providing details of your passport and visa.

Upon completion of both parts, you will be fully registered.

International Offer Holders

As an international offer holder, you may now be starting to think about travel plans. Whilst you will be a registered student of the University of Nottingham, the University of Lincoln will be issuing a CAS to students who are intending to join us in person in September.

Once your place has been confirmed, you will be contacted by the University of Lincoln’s International Admissions team with more information about the CAS issuing process and applying for your visa.

Occupational Health and DBS reminder

As part of the conditions of your offer, you now need to complete a DBS clearance check. Please visit Nottingham's DBS webpage to start this process.

In addition, you will also shortly receive further information regarding Occupational Health. University of Nottingham will contact you via email in June 2025. The first stage in the process is completing a questionnaire. Optima Health (University of Nottingham’s Occupational Health provider), will also contact you over the Summer. Please keep an eye out for these communications over the Summer period as it is important you complete the first stages of the process before you arrive.

International and EU offer holders will be contacted separately as arrangements may differ.

What about my accommodation?

Information about the accommodation process and what to expect at this stage can be accessed via the University of Lincoln’s Accommodation Team blog site.

If you have any questions or queries about accommodation, you can contact the Lincoln Accommodation Team via email at accommodation@lincoln.ac.uk

It will help the team deal with your enquiry if you indicate that you are an offer holder with the Lincoln Medical School in the email subject.
